Flex was designed for the in-between spaces of modern life: cafés that double as workspaces, dining tables that serve as home offices. These in-between spaces reflect how we live and work today - fluid and adaptable.
The goal was to create a simple, lightweight side chair that naturally moves with the body. With a single flexible shell, Flex supports long hours of sitting without complex mechanisms
What Happenned To Less Is More?
In today’s world, chairs are often over-engineered, packed with parts and mechanisms to deliver comfort. At the core of Flex’s structure is an intentional split structure in the side of the seat. It resembles a cut made in paper and pulled back, a simple visual gesture that implies flexibility. The shell is molded as a single, continuous surface, and the “cut” is a carefully designed variation of thickness of the material. This intervention introduces a responsive flexibility to the backrest, allowing it to move with the user’s body while maintaining structural integrity.
